Police arrested a woman last week after finding three driver’s licenses in her possession. She was driving a silver Lexus on Wakeforest Street on Jan. 31, and a police officer saw her run a stop sign.
When the officer pulled her car over and she reached in her purse for her ID, he saw three other driver’s licenses in the bag. None of the IDs belonged to her, and the officer arrested her and charged her for felony unlawful possession of identifying information.
Other crimes reported to police in the week of Jan. 31 to 8 include:
- On Jan. 31, police arrested a man for public intoxication after finding him drunk in front of a business in the 2600 block of Bissonnet Street.
- On Jan. 31, a resident in the 2800 block of Robinhood Street reported that someone either let the air out of his tires, or slashed them.
- On Jan. 31, a resident in the 2700 block of Talbot reported that someone had thrown paint on her home.
- On Feb. 3 around 4:50 a.m., an officer saw a man riding a bicycle with no headlight. After the man refused to say what he was doing there, the officer arrested him for having no bicycle headlight. The man had a previous arrest history.
- On Feb. 3, officers met with a fraud victim who said someone had used her credit card to make purchases.
- On Feb. 3, an officer pulled over a car for traffic violations and during the stop he found the driver had arrest warrants in Houston. The officer arrested the driver.
- On Feb. 4, a man visited the West U. police station to turn himself in for outstanding warrants.
- On Feb. 5, police responded to a hit and run traffic accident in the 2800 block of Wroxton Road. The vehicle’s owner said his car was parked on the street, and someone came along and side swiped the car.
- On Feb. 5, and employee at a business in the 5500 block of Kirby Drive reported that someone had come in trying to cash a fake check, and then ran away when it didn’t work.
- On Feb. 6, an officer pulled over a vehicle for not stopping at a stop sign. The officer found the drive had two outstanding warrants, and arrested the person.
