UHD Hosting Open House For Prospective Students

The University of Houston-Downtown invites prospective students, transfer students and their families to “Destination Downtown,” UHD’s spring open house from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, March 27, in downtown Houston.

Registration begins at 9 a.m. in the Shea Street Building, 320 N. Main St., home to UHD’s College of Business. Visitors will learn more about UHD’s award-winning programs, academic majors, and student activities and organizations.

“This is a perfect time for transfer students and high school students to see what our university has to offer,” said Jose Cantu, admissions director. “UHD is a good fit for students who appreciate small classes, diversity, the chance to work directly with professors on research projects as undergraduates, and a true sense of community.”

Students who bring their transcripts to the open house can apply for on-the-spot admissions for fall semester 2010. UHD’s “Destination Downtown” program includes sessions on financial aid, scholarships, choosing a major, student activities and campus tours.
