The West University Place Parks and Recreation Department is offering a series of certification classes for people who wish to become lifeguards. The department will be hiring lifeguards in March.
Certification courses include classroom instruction, water instruction, practical and written exams, and all certification cards. The February lifeguard session includes classes from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Feb. 20, 21, 27 and 28. The department will offer two additional four-class sessions in March, and a final session in April.
